March 9 and 10, 1-3 PM EDT
This two-day online workshop invites performers of all skill levels and backgrounds to learn the basics of performing with puppets.
For those coming to puppetry for the first time, you’ll be introduced to the various styles of hand puppetry and the basic techniques at the root of great puppeteering.
Over the course of two two-hour sessions you will get:
- Day One: A brief history of puppetry on stage and screen and its many styles, followed by first attempts at hand puppetry.
- Day Two: An introduction to hand puppet techniques, including breathing, idling, eye focus, and muscle movement.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll be ready to start playing with puppets in your own work.
This class will take place Saturday, March 9 from 1:00–3:00 PM EDT and Sunday March 10 from 1:00–3 PM EDT.
