Travel Information

Students should arrive at the Barn between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the day their workshop starts, and must depart no later than 10 a.m. on the day after their workshop ends.
PLEASE NOTE: some workshops have non-standard arrival times.

Getting to the Barn from the airport, bus and train stations

We want to make getting to the Barn as efficient and affordable as possible. Ultimately, you are responsible for making all your travel arrangements. If you don't plan ahead, the trip will cost you more. Here is what we offer to help make it easy:

1. We are happy to coordinate free-ride sharing (or splitting expenses) whenever possible. If you are looking for a ride, or have a ride to offer, let us know your itinerary as soon as possible. If its possible to hook you up with another student, we'll put you in touch with each other.

2. The Barn offers a shuttle service from Portland Jetport, Portland bus stations, and Portland Amtrak departing at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on arrival days. Seating is limited and available by reservation on a first come basis. The one-way fee of $40 is due upon arrival and is payable by check and cash only.

3. Michael's Limousine and Taxi offers discounted rates to Barn students from Portland to the Barn. A taxi (for up to 3 passengers) is $100 and a Limo (up to 5 passengers) is $120.
Don't forget to remind them of this discounted rate when you call to reserve your trip!

By Airplane:

Celebration Barn is 50 miles from the Portland International Jetport. Please note that there are two Portlands in the United States. We are on the East Coast, in Maine. The airport code is PWM. Ideally, you should schedule your arrival into Portland before 4:30 p.m., and your departure from Portland after 10 a.m. We recommend these times to allow for travel time since Portland is a 65 minute drive from the Barn.

By Train:

Amtrak now has service to Portland. You must change stations in Boston to get to Portland, then limousine/taxi service or a rental car will bring you the rest of the way (see above).


By Bus:

Greyhound/Vermont Transit and Concord Trailways have terminals in Portland. Limousine/taxi service or rental cars will bring you the rest of the way (see above).

Greyhound also has a terminal in Lewiston. Limo and taxi services in Lewiston include:
